You were mailed a letter (called a “Notice”) and a Claim Form, because a lawsuit against P66 has settled. The lawsuit made claims for all current and former Construction Field Representatives (“CFR’s”) and Hayes Field Services (“HFS”) staffed to P66 at any time from May 20, 2017 through the present who were classified as independent contractors and received a day rate with no overtime compensation. P66 denies these allegations and contends that you were properly classified as an independent contractor and contends it paid you lawfully and properly for your work.

The class action suit has been resolved for up to $475,000. The Notice, linked here, explains the lawsuit, the Settlement, your legal rights, what benefits are available, who is eligible for them, and how to get them. If you wish to receive money from the Settlement, you must do so following the procedures described in the Notice. If you do nothing, you will not receive any money. 

The Court in charge of the case is the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas - Houston Division, and the case is known as Hester, et al. v. Phillips 66 Company, Civil Action No. 4:18-CV-1078. The person who brought this suit is called the Plaintiff.
